CALCO AND OUR CLIENTS WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE HIGH IMPACT INTERACTIVE PRODUCT DISPLAYS

1. Determine Displays Function
How are we going to use this display?

  • Trade Show - Painting, Finishing, Bases, Booth Design.
  • Distributor Program - See this example.
  • Training - Working closely with your training staff we ensure every training cutaway is used as a working model so all options are exposed to facilitate the learning process.
  • Working Model - Creativity and safety are paramount with working models. Creativity is needed to hide the engineering required to create movement. Often, we can hide these in the base. To ensure safety your product can be encased in Plexiglas or we can custom mold a Plexiglas window onto the product. A safety light curtain, which acts as an automatic kill switch when a beam of light is broken similar to a garage door opener, can be another popular option.

1. Assess Product Documentation Requirements
How can we best document our client's work?

  • Digital photo library - CalCo can provide progress reports or digital photos of your product by e-mail during the project if needed.
  • Working drawings - Drafting and design from thumbnail sketches to working drawings are available.
  • Fax confirmations - We can let you know when your project arrives as well as leaves our plant.
  • Past work subdirectory/photo logs- For nearly thirty years, every job that has gone out our doors has been photo documented upon completion.

2. Determine Unique Product Characteristics

What unique product characteristics should I emphasize?

  • Materials - Our staff and craftsmen work with production managers and project engineers to understand unusual or difficult materials that need special handling or cutting methods.
  • Configuration - After 50 years in the cutaway business we have become experts at working with different materials and can give you the best advice on how to show your product effectively but communication is the key. We value your input.
  • Assembly - Many products call for additional clearance to adjust for the changes made by sanding, painting, plating, etc. We pride ourselves on the fact that many engineers wouldn't notice the work we have done.
  • End Markets - The right sales tool in the right spot at the right time! If your product is going to be showcased at a specific industry show, we will work to highlight product capabilities that are of specific interest to your audience.

2. Determine Machining Process

What view or finish best enhances our client's product identity?

Mill Cutting

Saw Cutting

Grinding

Sand Blasting

3. Define Shipping Requirements

When do I need it?

  • Timing - Standard turn around time is three to five weeks but we will try to work within your time parameters and we strive to be flexible.
  • Location - If time is a problem or if you need an item to shipped directly to a trade show or to another location we can accommodate you.
  • Preferred Carrier
  • Method (air, ground, etc.) - We ship by the most cost effective method possible due to your time constraints. Realistic shipping dates and client requirements are not mutually exclusive concepts.

3. Determine Appropriate Vendor Designation

Whom can we work with to give our client the best possible finished product?

CalCo has compiled a stable of vendors with whom we have long term working relationships to provide you with the best service possible.
