Product: Fire Hydrant
Customer: Mueller Company, Decatur, Illinois
Ever wonder what that fire hydrant out by your parkway
looks like on the inside?
To prevent freezing, a special valve must be installed
below the freezing level in the ground. When shut off,
it allows any water inside the hydrant to drain out
into the soil.
Hydrants in Northern climates actually extend much
further below the ground than above.
Mueller is proud of the many unique features of their
hydrant design. All these features are dramatically
shown in this cutaway.
